Fun graphic novel with literary characters battling it out. Not bad.

I had high hopes for this series, as I love library-themed books, Grimm's Fairy Tales, and comics, but sadly it was disappointing. The premise is good. A fourteen year old girl's father is about close down a library but brings his children with him to do some business. He is disconnected from his family after the death of his wife from cancer. The girl and her younger brother find a spell book in a hidden part of the library and activate it with a key. Suddenly good and bad characters (and dinos [...]

The story is sappy, predictable, and not well-written. The art is chaotic and, personally, unappealing. The only good thing with this book is the back that it had dinosaurs and Hercules in the same room. Outside of that? There was no characterization to speak of, I felt no connection to the characters, neither the villains nor heroes had any depth to them. It all happened so quickly without any explanation. I found it incredibly frustrating and the world-unbelievable. The more I read Grimm comic [...]

This was SO MUCH fun!!! I couldn't stop smiling my way through this thing. I got more and more excited with every character I recognized from literature, and found myself cheering Pacos Bill on as he took down the Black Knight with nothing but his pistols! The story can completely stand on its own. Sela is a very focused character in Zenescope's Grimm Fairy Tales series, but you don't need to know anything from their previous pulblishings to know who she is. This is just a grand little adventure [...]

A decent version of an alternate story line for Sela. It was worth the wait for the trade paperback but I think I would have felt a little cheated if I had tried to read the single comics on this one. No where near as good as the regular Grimm Fairy Tales story line.

Really enjoyed this read. I finished it super quick because of two reasons: it's an easy read and enjoyable so I didn't want to put it down.
