As usual I received this book free in exchange for a review. Also as usual I will defy the kindness with which that is offered and give my honest opinions below. To the positive side, the title is quite clever and the goblin himself is a cute and irascible little fellow. The story is simple but relatively engaging and will keep a child's attention for a read or two though the ending is extremely abrupt. On the negative side, the text needs considerable cleaning up. It's not clear most of the time [...]

The book is written in rhyme and if you like goblins, treasures and forest beasts you will love this book. Hobb Goblin invites you along on his adventure to find a buried pirate's treasure. He finds a map and challenges you to accompany him through the forest to the beach because behind the trees there is a treasure to be claimed. He even tempts you with profit sharing . 40/60w that's a deal and hard to resist. In the forest resides a beast named Skwee who wants not 40/60 of the bounty but 100% [...]

`And that is the reward of adventure!'This review is from: Hobbs Goblin in The Treasure Adventure (Paperback)Author/artist Joseph Foster is from Michigan who writes and illustrates his books on his own. The concept behind Hobbs Goblin came from his son Gabriel, `who is infatuated by fantasy themes and goblins.'In a very clever manner Foster includes the reader in his adventure. The reader (or the child being read to) joins Hobbs Goblin on an adventure. Hobbs Goblin takes you with a map that lead [...]

Joseph Foster is a new talent to watch out for! In his new, beautifully illustrated book Hobbs Goblin In The Treasure Adventure, our friend Hobbs Goblin takes us on a fun and exciting adventure. One of the many things I liked about this book is that the entire page is full of colour. The background is beautifully painted and Hobbs is adorable.Another great thing about this book is that he speaks to you throughout the book, making you feel like you are entirely part of the action. This also encou [...]

"Hobbs Goblin in The Treasure Adventure" by Joseph Foster is a beautifully told and amazingly illustrated picture book.It involves the ever so cute Hobbs Goblin trying to find a buried pirate treasure! The story is indeed a great adventure with an almost scary moment when he meets the monster Skwee. That part should be entertaining to read with great dramatic effect, but the emphasise of this book is the contagious adventure spirit that fuels the imagination. Great fun, well done.
