Very sweet and short enough to enjoy within the span of a couple hours. I love friends to lovers stories, especially when they're taboo, like a brothers little sister. This packed both! Jordan was Jared's little sister. Back from college and looking for a teaching job back in her home town, she reconnects with her brothers best friend, JT. But being back also brings some sadness for Jordan. Her grandmother is terminally ill and desperately wants her granddaughter to marry before she passes away. [...]

Before anything else, I want to make it clear that back in May 2014 (when it was newly published), I gave this a novel a try and ended up not being able to finish it because it turned out to be 'not my cup of tea'. Less than a year later, I decided to give it a try again and WOW, I loved it! I just told R.C. how awesome time can change a person's perspective. Apparently, I was a picky reader back then. Now, not so much. ;)This short novel is all fun, charming and sweet romantce!Grannie's last wi [...]

Jordan and JT have know each other all their lives. JT's best friend is Jared who is Jordan's older brother. Grannie was diagnosed with Cancer and she knew that she wouldn't live to see Jordan fall in love, prepare for her wedding, and get married. So, Grannie decides to sign Jordan up with a dating service. While Jordan is out on these dates Grannie makes sure that the dates are in a restaurant where JT is working. Grannie also sets it up for Jordan to attend a wedding and see what is required [...]

3 Over the Top stars! This was a fun and cute read. Definitely a good in between book. It was way over the top and had a lot of cheesy dialogue. It was short enough that I wasn't too bored or all that annoyed, but still had quite a few eye roll moments. The Grannie in this book reminded me of the Grandma in Rachel Van Dyken's 'The Bet' series. They both tried to meddle in their grandkids love lives. This one was way too predictable. But again, I did enjoy it because it was a fluffy read that was [...]

Review posted at: Swept Away By Romance3 ½ stars!Date Night by R.C. Matthews was a perfect way to kick-off my summer reading, and it’s a book that I enjoyed pretty much from start to finish. Romantic, funny, with just a touch of heat, it was uncomplicated and lighthearted romance at it’s best.Jordan, our heroine, is trying to appease her beloved ailing grandmother’s request to be present at her wedding. In order to accommodate this request, she must find a groom A.S.A.P. Jordan joins an o [...]

4.5 stars! The first thing that went through my head when I finished this book? Awwwww!!This story is a quick read full of romance, wit and a charming sweetness. The lively characters are easy to love and root for. The love is endearing - an altogether wonderful tale of friends to lovers. I am anxious to read the rest of the series and I highly recommend. The only reason it lacked that half a star is a matter of personal preference. My five star reads have a ton of angst and conflict to ensure th [...]

The first part was so funny. I confess to laughing so hard it brought tears to my eyes reading about the date that picked his nose and then did the pull my finger! Frankly, I so needed a good laugh after the last horrible 2 weeks. I got a bit frustrated by J.T. acting like a jerk, but at least he realized it immediately and felt bad. I also got a bit ticked off at Jordan because I have a real issue with using another person to make someone jealous. Luckily, she did not lead Steve on too long. Ja [...]

A short but oh so sweet friends to lovers story with a meddling grannie as a bonus! I do love grannies Grannie has a dying wish to see her granddaughter walk down the aisle before she passes so, her meddling ways leads Jordan into a string of seriously bad dates through a dating service. Some of them were definitely cringe worthy. Except for the male stripper yep, he had to be worth at least a second date! Just sayin :) Grannie puts JT, long term family friend, in charge of supervising these dat [...]

I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I will be honest - I thought this book was going to be some silly fluffy romance story. I usually read romantic suspense. But sometimes it is necessary for me to take a break and read a light romance. Date Night was a WONDERFUL surprise! It was funny and romantic. As I read this cute book, I was laughing, smiling and generally feeling very happy. It is true that some of events unrealistic, such as Jordan taking JT as [...]

**I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**R.C. Matthew's, Date Night was cute and sweet, if a little predictable. Jordan's grandma, Grannie, is diagnosed with cancer and her last wish is to see her granddaughter married. So, with Grannie meddling in the sidelines--and paying for an expensive dating service--Jordan embarks on a journey to find The One while planning a wedding she doesn't yet have a groom for. I found this book humorous and heart warming, though I do [...]

I received this book through in exchange for an honest review.'Date Night' is a nice, light read - perfect material for when reading time is lacking.Although some of the sexual references are a bit description-heavy, something I myself am not a fan of, I enjoyed the journey of the central characters and had some laugh-out-loud moments on the way. Surprisingly, I rather liked the switching of points-of-view, as it allows the reader to get into the heads of both main characters instead of just on [...]

This was actually a really cute read. I loved JT and Jordan. The characters were all likable and easy to follow. The plot is one that I love no matter how much it's done. Meddling Grandma's, best friends, love. This is a fun read and well worth the dollar to pick it up and read! The only reason it's not 5 stars, is because I expected a little steamier. The blurb says sexual content, but you really only get 1 page at the end. I would have loved to see more.

A very cute, sweet read. Would have been a 4 star book for me except for editing issues in the last 1/4 of the book. In telling part of the story from the heroine's point of view, the author refers to her mother as Mrs. B instead of "mom." With the point of view changing back and forth between the main characters, the mistake pulled me from the story, especially since it happened several times. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a very sweet, sensual romance novel. It is well written and has characters you can totally relate to.Jordan's grandma signs her up with a dating service so she can meet the man of her dreams. Grandma is dying and wants to see Jordan walk down the aisle. But all is not as it seems. This book has it's share of twists and turns. And Jordan dates a few frogs before finally finding her Prince Charming and her happily ever after.

    • Shay says:

A short and sweet story about a girl who falls in love with her brothers best friend while planning a wedding without a groom. Overall, I liked the story. My issues come with while switching first person, the writer had the girl, Jordan, referring to her own mom as Mrs. Billette. Also, I only think my grandmother uses the word bosom, not 25 year old men. Some of the language didn't fit the age of the characters. I still think it's a good story overall, but it needs some work.

    • Andrew Rose says:

First, a confession. I am not a person that normally reads Romance novels. I’m not even sure what caused me to read this one. But that said it was a decent read with engaging characterization and while the plot was fairly predictable it wasn’t without its twists and turns and wasn’t forced into dipping its toes into cheap erotica. I enjoyed reading it a lot more than I thought I would and would read more by this author.

Absolutely amazing. This book had me from the beginning and was read in a matter of a few hours because I couldn't put it down. It is the perfect true love story about 2 friends that grew up together and realized they loved each other with a little push from some family members. Will definantly read again

I adored Jordan and how she interacts with her Grannie. She has a lovely relationship with her. And then she falls in love with JT. This story is sensational and has a very solid grounding in reality!I found the author, R. C. Matthews a very fresh and unique voice blending this Contemporary and Chicklit!Highly recommended to readers!

    • Anne says:

My initial thought at the end was – GO GRANNIE!!!This was a quick, enjoyable read. The author created a sweet romance that I managed to read in one day. The alternate viewpoints gave the reader insight into the progressing romance as Jordon and JT struggled with their feelings and the potential problems they create.
