Terrible It was a long story to read. Flipped back and forth between past and present way too much. It was a choppy story that is not well written. The plot is hard to follow and the end is predictable and without much closure to the end. Would not recommend this to anyone.

InsubstantialThis short novella, love story, escape, whatever's it claims, was a let down. The characters never quite felt real. The situations were too exaggerated, too black and white. There was no growth.

This book was ripped from the movie Sleeping With The Enemy. A young woman in an abusive relationship escapes to the French country side, meets a handsome neighbor. The end of the story is predictable. That said it was a quick easy read and I enjoyed the escape into the book.

I want more! This excellent book was engaging from cover to cover. I'm hoping this is the first in a series because I want more! Ms. Drinkwater has a new reader.

I liked this story. Maybe I did not stay up late to finish it, but I kept coming back to it when I had some time to read. I liked the main character, Carole, and felt the story was about her dealing with her issues and trying to get her life back after an abusive marriage and dealing with the fear that he would find her again were very well written. I would recommend it to my friends to read.
