      *3.5Before I began reading this book, I check on GR for more detailed reviews (not with spoiler of course).Only a handful of people reviewed and talked about this book. And I kind of understand that it was published in 2007.It started with a very slow paced kind of story. By slow, I mean very slow (hence the 3.5 stars).       Very slow moving. Seems like it took forever for the story to develop. I did enjoy the end though

      I really enjoyed this book. It was something I could relate to being in a similar situation to Sally, and I really enjoyed the history of the North Walk house and its previous occupants. It would be good to see the book by Sally as that was a very interesting story.

      Second time around, still found the premise and plot development engaging and rather original. Very realistic look at the "second-family" syndrome, although the poor first wife is a bit too much of a villain to be fully credible.

      nice idea of embedding a bit of a mystery theme into the book that talks about love, wld like to read about the The very Victorian murder by Sally too.
