(Reprinted from the Chicago Center for Literature and Photography [cclapcenter]. I am the original author of this essay, as well as the owner of CCLaP; it is not being reprinted illegally.)For the last two years I've been practicing yoga and meditation on a regular basis, first because I was required to as part of attending the computer-coding alternative school DevBootcamp, then afterwards because I found both practices to be positive and constructive ones in my life. When I first heard of Ganja YogaI was skeptical. I thought that Dussault and Bardhaj were this century’s Cheech and Chong on a mission to corrupt an ageless mindful practice with crass jokes and sloppy techniques. What I read however was completely the opposite. Dussault and Bardhaj have composed an extensive educational resource for those looking to expand on their yoga practice in a non-traditional way. As a recovering addict, I must say that I have no plans to start practicing Ganja Yoga my [...]

Though I agree with all of the information in this book, and all of the information is good and accurate as far as I know, I'm rating it only 2 stars because I was hoping for much more here than the very, very basics of breathing, mindfulness, and cannabis usage. This book is for newbies only. Anyone who has any experience with either yoga or ganja or both will want to look elsewhere, as the information here was not only extremely basic, but written in a very fluffy, Cosmopolitan magazine style [...]

I expected this book to be a little "hippy dippy" and weed-heavy, but Dee is not afraid to show contrasting points in this whole topic. She also talked about dependency, which most authors or stoners might avoid. This book is also written with a nice balance between a tone of conversation but with ample fact and intelligence thrown in. Like talking to your smartest stoner friend. I loved it. :)

Thoughtful Guide to Cannabis Clear, interesting exploration of an ancient and modern practice. Broader than the title suggests. Convincing for those as yet unpersuaded as to our need for this plant. Highly recommended.
